  | Create a Group |  | A parent group is created when you submit the WHSMS Group user licence application as part of the payment process. The details provided in the group user licence application are registered as that of the parent group. A parent group is the main or primary workplace of the organisation. If you only have one workplace, that's it! You don't need to register any further workplaces, just click continue to proceed to the next part of the registration process. - A parent group remains a parent group.
- Child groups or child-parent groups with any number of child groups may be assigned to a parent group.
Extra workplaces WHSMS gives you the freedom to create and add as many child groups within a parent group folder. There is no limit as to how many groups you have. No additional charges or fees either. Only line management personal have the authority to add or remove a secondary workplace that being a child group to the parent group folder. What is a child group? A child group is a secondary workplace associated with the conduct of an organisations business undertaking. WHSMS lets you build the organisational tree to suit your business structure. This will also define the level of reporting access with an organisational tree structure. Example Organiser works in the same way. If you are in the head office group you can send and target a message to any group or level of employee in the tree e.g. construction managers and OHS managers - attend safety conference 09 October 2009 9.00am location is ..... Example: Employer group tree How to create a group Details required for the creation of a group are simple: Workplace details - Specify a date for registration.
- A picture speaks a thousand words. Take a photograph or video of the workplace and attach it as a file.
- Is the group a child-parent or a child group?
- Organisation name. The business identity undertaking works at the workplace being registered. This identity can have a different name to that of the parent group. The 2nd or other identity must be related to parent group.
- Workplace name. This is the name by which the workplace, building or premises is commonly referred to as e.g. Roma Street Fire Station.
- Principal contractors name. The name of the main builder where the child group is established for or in connection works undertaken at a construction workplace.
- Physical location. Log the street address, suburb, city, state, country and postcode.
- Communications. Enter the telephone, facsimile and email contacts for the workplace.
- Number of persons. This is the proposed number of persons employed by the group at the workplace.
Contact details - Simply enter the family and given names of the organisations nominated ohs contact person for the workplace being registered.
- Select their position from our comprehensive employee classification.

Corporate identity Personalise WHSMS with your business identity. Attach a banner in a GIF or JPEG format (550 x 130) and we will place it in the header of each page seen within your group at no cost. For the purpose of compliance with statute compliance your banner shall include: - Organisation or business name.
- Trading address of business.
- Contact details for business.
If you would like a banner designed we can assist contact us and we will assist you further. Sign-off As part of the verification process you will be asked to confirm the child group details as being true and correct. - Provide your family and given names and your position within the organisation.
Where all details are provided, the group shall be assigned the required access to the parent group. - A record of the registration shall be created and stored on the WHSMS database.
If the form is returned after being submitted it, you have not completed a mandatory field. You must complete those fields highlighted in red before moving to the next phase of the registration process. |
