Guidance Guidance and advice in a code of practice is not legislation, it should be adopted unless a person chooses an alternative control measure or course of action that achieves an equivalent or better standard than that recommended in a code of practice. - Codes of practice are developed in consultation with employers, employees, industry and union representatives and government agencies.
