  | Act |  | An Act that relates to occupational health and safety shall formulate and specify the framework by which an organisation shall prevent or minimise a person's exposure to risk through the: - Imposing of a duty of care upon a person or multiple person/s where the action or decision of that person/s will, may or is likely to have a direct affect upon the health and safety of another person at a workplace;
- Making of Regulations, Codes of Practice, Standards, etc to assist persons and industry with the management of occupational health and safety issues and matters;
- Promotion and encouragement for consultation between employers and employees to ensure a resolution to health and safety matters at a workplace;
- Establishment of a board or committee that shall actively promote industry participation and cooperation to ensure the best outcome for industry;
- Appointment of individual persons within a definitive occupational health and safety role in accordance with a statutory provision, to assist employers in the effective management of occupational health and safety matters and issues;
- Advocacy to establish health and safety committees at a workplace involving both line management representatives and employees;
- Election of health and safety representatives for the purpose of communicating between the employees and an employer with regard occupational health and safety matters and issues;
- Appointment of persons where required to assist industry with the management of particular and specific health and safety risks;
- Appointment of persons in the capacity of an inspector for the purpose of monitoring and enforcing compliance with the statute health and safety legislation.
